Welcome to the personal website of Megan Olsen, a current PhD student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, in the Computer Science department. I spent 4 years at Virginia Tech to receive my BS in Computer Science, graduating in spring 2005.

Here you will find information and pictures from my time at UMass. I’ve also uploaded a few pieces of artwork and craftwork, although I don’t create things as often as I’d like.  I have many hobbies, including hiking, biking, tennis, volleyball, softball, watching college football, scrapbooking, blogging, playing video games, photography, and traveling.

Why “NorthernBelle”?  Well, my very first year in graduate school I wanted to play on the fact that I’m from the south but currently live in the north.  A quintessential name for a southern lady came to mind (Southern Belle), and from there it clicked.
